qEEG – A Map of Your Brain

Before starting neurofeedback treatment, a qEEG is conducted to guide your Neurofeedback protocol. This process lasts approximately one and one half hours and entails wearing a cap on your head that contains small electrodes which records the electrical activity emitted by neurotransmitters in your brain. While you sit resting with your eyes open for 10 minutes and then with your eyes closed for 10 minutes, the pertinent information is gathered. The qEEG findings are then compared to a normative database. This database consists of brain map recordings of several hundred healthy individuals (screened for any abnormalities). Your brain wave activity will be compared against those individuals.
